We are excited to announce Thomas A. Saenz as the Keynote Speaker at El Centro de la Raza’s 50th Anniversary Building the Beloved Community Gala this October. Mr. Saenz is the President and General Counsel of MALDEF (Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund). He leads the organization in pursuing litigation, policy advocacy, and community education to promote the civil rights of all Latinos living in the United States in the areas of education, employment, immigrants’ rights, and voting rights. MALDEF has plans to open a Seattle-based office; we are looking forward to having this voice for Latino civil rights operating from our city. Mr. Saenz is an exceptional advocate and legal rights activist for Latinos across the nation, and we are honored to hear from him at our 50th Anniversary event this year!
